After being a TARC captain for the past two years I felt as if I had a good handle on rocketry in general. However, after joining NASA Student Launch, I realized I hadn’t even scratched the surface. SLI taught me more than I could ever imagine, turning in official reports, fine tuning each part of our rocket and working tirelessly each day all became worth it after seeing our first successful launch. Though we did face issues along the way, this program taught me how to handle these problems and handle them in order to create a successful project at the end. Working on this project has not only passed on aerospace skills, but also skills for the real world. Overall, SLI is something that has furthered my love for engineering and an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
